Garam Masala Powder – Recipe & Details 🌶️
Overview:
Garam masala is a traditional Indian spice blend known for its warm, aromatic flavor. It’s used to enhance curries, gravies, and rice dishes.
🌿 Ingredients (basic homemade version):

| Cumin seeds | 2 tbsp |
| Coriander seeds | 2 tbsp |
| Black peppercorns | 1 tbsp |
| Cloves | 1 tsp |
| Green cardamom | 1 tbsp (about 8–10 pods) |
| Black cardamom (optional) | 2 pods |
| Cinnamon stick | 2-inch piece |
| Bay leaves | 2 |
| Dry red chilies (optional) | 1–2 |
| Nutmeg | ¼ tsp (grated) |
| Mace (javitri) | 1 small piece |
🔥 Method:

Dry roast all the whole spices (except nutmeg) in a pan on low heat for 2–3 minutes, until fragrant.

Cool completely to room temperature.

Grind into a fine powder using a spice grinder or mixer.

Add grated nutmeg and mix well.

Store in an airtight glass jar, away from moisture and sunlight.
